Roles and Responsibilities
The Board of Management has a range of duties and powers and a general responsibility for the conduct of the school with a view to promoting high standards of educational achievement. Its responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- setting targets for pupil achievement
- managing the school’s finances
- making sure the curriculum is balanced and broadly based
- appointing staff
- reviewing staff performance and pay

The board of management manages the school on behalf of the patron and is accountable to the patron and the Minister. The board must uphold the characteristic spirit (ethos) of the school and is accountable to the patron for so doing.
The principal is responsible for the day-to-day management of the school, including providing guidance and direction to the teachers and other staff of the school and is accountable for that management.
Two people are nominated from each of the following:

The Parents
The Staff
The Community
Together these eight people form “a body corporate” and act as one unit for the benefit of the school.
